Express Your Self
During my Reiki sessions I receive intuitive messages for my clients. Today I received my most vivid, detailed vision that I feel is important to share with my readers as well. I haven’t seen or heard of this process of expression anywhere before. But, it sounded very cool to me.
I saw a brand new box of 24 Crayola crayons. I could even smell the crayon scent. I also saw wide-ruled notebook paper, single sheets, not a notebook. The message that I received was as follows:
Take a couple deep breaths and relax. Choose a crayon that corresponds to the color which matches how you are feeling. Use your first instinct without any thought behind it. It is also important to use crayons instead of pencil crayons, (can’t explain this part but this was part of the message as well but I’m sure that it has to do with creative expression vs worrying about details). Now, start writing or drawing on the wide-ruled paper whatever flows. Again, don’t think about it, just let the process unfold. If you feel like changing colors part way through, go for it. If possible, this exercise should take place on a daily basis. Using individual sheets of paper rather than a notebook is because each paper is an individual expression and should be respected as such. You can date the pages or not but keep them in order in a three-ring binder. These pages do not have to be read again if you don’t want to, but it will be interesting for you to observe the color changes as you look back on each day. This is a process of creative release.
I would love to hear your thoughts and experiences with this technique.
Blessings,
~Tania

Dear tania, I am convinced that you get in contact with that part of you, that is connected to all around us. I think you created a wonderful technique to learn more about oneself.
Sounds fascinating.
People might be able to get ‘in touch with themselves’ somewhat like ‘automatic writing’.
I met a psychic a number of years ago who used this process to not only generate art but to give messages to other people.
What a splendid idea! You may also enjoy exploring Leanne Lonergan’s rainbow revolution blog:

That is indeed a wonderful idea. Color is for many people at the root of creative expression and, at least for me, of intuitive thinking in general. Oddly enough, there are some days when I write in my journal in different colors, rather than just with any old pen or pencil - just seems the right thing to do. Looking back over years I find no particular pattern or anything, just some days are green, some orange, some purple, or whatever. And some days I just wake up and the first thing that comes to mind is color - some dreams are vivid color, nothing else, just color. The crayons seem a very cool way to chronicle our intuitive and creative lives.
Thanks for the post today (and the comment on blogspot) I always enjoyed coloring with my children! We all need to remember to stay in touch with the simple things in life that brought us so much joy as children. Life just gets too complicated sometimes.
This sounds like so much fun. It would make a nice break during my work day of writing. I am going to try this. It’s simple, non-thinking and would be interesting over time to see what comes out. Thank you! : )
Sounds like a wonderful idea! I love colours and am off to buy some crayons …
