Dancing with the daffodils

The Daffodils
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A Poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed–and gazed–but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
~William Wordsworth

Great poem. I guess the message I get from this is to draw strength from within. I must remember that the same beauty that is found when looking at daffodils is the same beauty that is inside of me. I just need to focus on all that is good around me instead of what’s not. Once I realize this, my inward “true” self takes pleasure and dances with joy. Thanks for the reminder Tania.
Many blessings!

HOW LOVELY! This is delightful. It is interesting as I am really learning to choose what I identify with or focus on. And if I get out into nature and beautiful places, even a park, I go home and all that I’ve seen and felt and sensed in the trees, rocks and flowers is still with me through my work day, and leaves me feeling happey and alive. I believe that we ARE these things and they can recharge us and vitalize us. We really can’t live without them. Great writing. Thank you. It made me smile. : )
