@AngelBaby & Liara - Whether to add cream & sugar (or sweetener) to an herbal or green tea depends upon if you are drinking it for the enjoyment or to reap more of the medicinal benefits. Many herbals teas are somewhat bitter. The bitterness is part of it's medicinal quality, it starts in the mouth by causing your mouth to water... the start of gastric juices. Green tea is beneficial for the the gums so I personally would not want to add a sweetener and negate that.

I also drink straight green on a regular basis. I savor the rich flavor and like to minimize caffeine intake from normal tea. As for the effects of adding cream and sugar to tea, people convince themselves of what they choose to believe. Those who avoid these things may assume cream and sugar are bad or take something away from basic flavor. Those who consume them are convinced they contain benefits. To each his or her own.

I love to drink green tea. I have about four cups of it a day. I have heard that if you add a little cream and sugar it changes the good effects green tea has on the body. Do you know if this is true? Let me know.

I have something for you on my site.

Love and Blessings,
AngelBaby

Thanks for all the good information on Green Tea! My personal favorite is the organic fair trade gunpowder green tea from Mountain Rose Herbs. I think I'm gonna go get a cup now!

Peace!

Dear tania,

I have been drinking green tea for a long time. It is refreshing and stimulating as coffee and I feel better after having had a cup of tea compared to coffee.

Thank you for these many pieces of information round about green tea.
