A parenthesis in eternity

two horses

“We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment, but it is transient. It is a little parenthesis in eternity. If we share with caring, lightheartedness, and love, we will create abundance and joy for each other. And then this moment will have been worthwhile.” ~Deepak Chopra

Wading through murky waters

Growing up, I always had water around me, whether is was a little stream in the woods, a crystal clear lake with a swamp off to one side, a river in the back yard, another stream through the woods and now, the ocean.

I would lose myself for hours in the magic and mystery of the woods and the little stream. I was always fascinated with the branches and logs that had fallen across the water, slowing the water enough so that leaves would get caught and pile up, creating a dam and stopping the flow. It’s still a vivid memory, the way the water changed when I removed the blocking branch. First the leaves would get carried away, the water would turn real murky as the new flow of water stirred up the accumulated debris, clear water gradually mixing in and washing the stagnancy away. The settled muck disbursed into the water, exposing the hidden sandy bottom. Crystal clear water flowing once more.

So is life. Blockages within our lives, bodies and environment create stagnant energy, blocking the flow of newness and clarity. Once these blockages are removed, fresh energy flows into our lives bringing with it new experiences and abundance.

“The underlying attraction of the movement of water and sand is biological. If we look more deeply we can see it as the basis of an abstract idea linking ourselves with the limitless mechanics of the universe.” ~ Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe

There are countless methods for releasing energy blocks in our bodies, environment and life. Anything that moves energy works. Journaling, yoga, qi gong, tai chi, energy work such as massage, Reiki, chakra work, or reflexology; a fast or detoxifying diet, feng shui, clearing clutter…

Below are some posts I’ve run across on stagnant and negative energies. Take the time to read through these and let the crystal clear water flow into your life, allowing the murky waters to move on.

The Quiet Place

The Quiet Place

It’s very still here.
There is a peace and silence that is deafening.
It is a place where nothing seems to be able to touch me.
It is a place where I can stand and
watch the whole world spinning by,
whirling in its array of activities
               and struggles
                    and conflicts
                         and joys
                              and anguish;
yet I remain still, untouched.

It’s neither a warm or cold place.
It’s neither an easy or difficult place.
It’s neither a sad or happy place.
It just is.
There is no activity here.
There is no hurry to get to the next appointment
or finish the next project or to …
there is just IS.

There is a certain detachment that allows observance here.
There is no judgement,
but rather a tremendous and profound permission granted
          from some unknown source
               to simply be and accept.

Others could confuse this place with depression,
for in this place there is such an absence of emotion.
But when you settle into this place,
you realize that there is profound peace.
This is not depression.
This is oneness.
Feelings run deep here,
yet merge into the oneness of being.
Pain and joy are one.
Sadness and elation are one.
Ecstasy is the constant state — yes, bliss.
Yet this is not how I would have described those terms
     in my human ego’s perceptions.
Ecstasy and bliss are states of being,
     not states of doing.
And the ego know nothing of being.
The ego only knows doing.

How does one get to this place?
Everyone is on their way to here in their own time.
Every experience is preparation.
Every moment is a step closer,
even when you feel like you are running the other way.
It’s all part of the journey to the quiet.
It’s a place where everything is reduced
to its simplest form and meaning.
It’s a place where the criteria for choices becomes
     whatever allows you to continue being;
not getting caught up in doing.
Many struggles may lead you to this quiet place.
Yet when you arrive,
     suddenly there is peace.
Everything else has simply fallen away.

How did I get here?
Carrying wood.
While carrying and stacking firewood to provide heat for the winter,
     I suddenly arrived here.
Carrying wood made sense to me.
Carrying wood helped me to get to “being” instead of “doing.”
How long can I stay here?
Each time I arrive here I am able to stay longer,
but then my ego pulls me back into “doing.”
Yet each time I come back here,
I get into deeper chambers of this quiet place,
and I get more comfortable with “being” and not “doing.”

It’s very still here.
This place is where God lives within me.
This place is my soul.
This place is my oneness with every creature
and with every point in time.
This place is my truth, my essence.
This place is sacred and to be honored above all else.
This place is Love.

Your place in the family of things…

Published by Tania under General, Personal Growth, Poetry

Wild Geese

“You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.

Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting–
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.”

Nothing is more real

Bliss n. 1. supreme happiness. 2. Theol. the joy of heaven. 3. heaven; paradise 4. Archaic. a cause of great joy.

Once in a while, a fortune cookie quote has relevance, “To love what you do and feel that it matters - how could anything be more fun?”

What is it that provides us bliss? Have we made it our way of life? Why not? With the day-to-day stress and hectic schedules, finding our bliss may be difficult, we allow daily life to take up all our time. Sure, we’ve caught glimpses of it, experienced it for a bit, maybe even added it to our lives once in a while when we get the chance. Living a life of bliss is available to all, its part of who we are; our heart, spirit and soul yearn for it - to experience heaven on earth. Ego is the force that takes it away. Following our bliss usually involves transformation and changes. Change is scary; the unknown, chances. Ego fears change.

When we are experiencing excitement, enthusiasm and joy in our heart, we have found our bliss. It’s time to change our thought patterns and realize that we deserve to live a life of joy. The Law of Attraction teaches us that if we experience joy in whatever we do, we will attract more joy.

“Nothing is more important than reconnecting with your bliss. Nothing is as rich. Nothing is more real.” ~Deepak Chopra
